HR Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, ensuring smooth operations within the department. This position requires strong administrative skills, proficiency in HR software, and excellent communication abilities to effectively liaise with employees and management.
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire employee lifecycle from creating job adverts, conducting interviews, issuing offer letters, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Check starter documentation in accordance with UK Right to Work laws.
  • Coordinate occupational health referrals when required.
  • Manage the new start process and liaise with payroll.
  • Manage the leavers process and production of training bills.
  • Liaising with colleges, job centres and other 3rd parties to promote SWGR and find eligible candidates.
  • Coordinate training courses, medicals, D+A tests and PPE for frontline candidates being onboarded.
  • Coordinate with line managers and manage any disciplinaries or grievances.
  • Create and issue changes to terms and conditions of employment.
  • Produce weekly HR report for Director of Business Services.
  • Manage the leavers process and production of training bills.
  • Work closely with all departments to provide HR support and advice.
  • Organise corporate events when required.
  • Update and maintain accurate personnel files within the HR systems.
  • Take meeting minutes.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar HR role/HR qualification
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with human resources principles and practices is an advantage.
