Job Purpose:
Assist in the delivery of resourcing and planning for all Possession Management activities within the geographical footprint above. This involves planning for operational shifts, training, assessments, annual leave and other activities that influence the delivery of frontline colleagues to our clients. Assist in SWP and similar planning activities including the production of packs, monitoring their use and returns and following up issues arising.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Assist in the resource planning activities mainly, but not exclusively around the NE PM Contract area
- Relative to the above: ensure all training, assessments, annual leave, and other “absences” are accounted for in the future planning processes – by means of the active management around the factors mentioned
- Assist in the receipt of and development thereafter of the “T-5” plan or similar scheduling that maximises the safe and professional use of SWGRs resources
- Assist in the production of SWP and similar packs, control their timeous issue and account for all packs being returned
- Participate, where directed, in daily, weekly, periodic and other meetings both internal and external including Review Meetings and ensure adequate preparation and follow-up is undertaken on issues arising or expected to arise
- Play and active part SWGR’s focus on developing the resource pool within your area in their journey of continuous improvement. This will include but not be limited to – incident or MCCO feedback, client feedback and SWGRs colleague development processes such as our ABC or ABCC processes
- Assist in all of the above for other areas within SWGR and on a real time basis coordinate with the Manchester Resourcing & Planning Team ensuring their success
- Undertake on-call as part of an organised on-call system (nominal 1 in 5)
Knowledge, Experience and Education Requirements
- Understand railway possession management competences up to PICOP/SPICOP/NP level in the context of matching skills to shifts
- Experienced and proficient in Microsoft applications (Word and Excel)
- Essential to hold a full UK driving license
- Knowledge of Railway Group Standards relating to possession management and related activities
- Knowledge and experience of being a Mentor and standout Role Model
