COSS / PIC Operatives

Due to further Contract wins SWGR are looking for qualified Skilled Operatives with COSS / PIC competency to work on our Regional contracts within our established teams based in Leeds and York. You will be part of a successful and growing business based across the UK working on long term projects. Your Responsibilities:
As a Controller of Site Safety/ Person In Charge you can expect to be working in a safe manner following appropriate procedures and instructions at all times, promoting and supervising the safe working of all team members on site.
Within the role you can also expect to be:
  • To brief, take and maintain any planned protection arrangements in accordance with Safe Work Pack.
  • To lead a team and ensure work is carried out as planned, in line with current H & S regulations, to program and budget.
  • To Ensure all paperwork for task is completed as required.
  • To Brief out all healthy and safe working practices in accordance with the WPP, TBS, and Current Standards .
  • Ensure completion of works to planned arrangements, timescales as well as to quality procedures and standards.
  • Ensuring all vehicles, materials, tools and plant equipment under your control are fit for use and are used, stored and disposed of correctly, with any defects being reported immediately to Health & Safety and Management.
  • Correctly using and maintaining all PPE within team.
  • Discussing all aspects of your work with the Site Manager where you feel safety can be improved.
  • Mentoring General Operatives and less experienced team members in work tasks.
  • Encouraging collaboration within your team in order to utilise skill sets, ensuring all deadlines are met effectively.
 
Person Specification:
The perfect candidate will have:
  • PTS – Essential
  • COSS – Essential
  • Experience in general construction in Civil Engineering and Rail sector – Essential
  • The ability and willingness to regularly work away from home, as well as on nights and weekends – Essential
  • Advantageous qualifications and experience in: CSCS, PASMA, Manual Handling & First Aid, small tools,  plant operator.
We can allocate successful candidates work once you have successfully registered and are on Sponsor with us.
Rates can be discussed payment type is umbrella PAYE or PAYE.
