Our company has developed its Welding Services division to create an integrated provision for testing welders on specific procedures, providing training and certification to meet the demands of the marketplace in the UK and overseas.
We are continually expanding the welding procedures we provide training for so that we can confidently claim we are able to meet the needs of any job, big or small by utilising the latest in welding technology.
Our comprehensive training means that we have a portfolio of highly-skilled welders available to carry out a wide range of different welds for an array of industries. We have vast experience of completing welding work for a variety of clients, including safety-critical work on operational sites such as motorway bridges and rail depots, as well as challenging projects in large stadiums and construction projects.
SWGR developed its welding division to create an integrated welder testing facility to meet the demands of the marketplace in the UK and overseas. We have vast experience within the welder training industry, plus over 30 years’ experience working within a variety of engineering-related sectors. Our wide range of courses means that we can support welders at various levels, whether they are new to the industry, looking to refresh their skills or learn an advanced welding process.
We also offer consultant Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) services, writing welding quality management systems all documentation required to secure a Factory Production Control (FPC) and Welding Certificate as required by CE marking to EN1090 to ensure that all structural steelwork is carried out to an adequate standard.
Our expertise in providing high-integrity welding on both structural steelwork and pipework for wide range of industries on a multitude of projects guarantees a professional result every time, and our bespoke on-site training facility is fully equipped to deliver training to the highest standards.
SWGR Welding Services’ courses provide a comprehensive knowledge of welding, safety, welding inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT) and practical instruction for individuals with a variety of welding experience.
All procedures are controlled by our in-house CSWIP inspectors and NDT technicians, and all processes and procedures are independently verified by external notifiable bodies.
All our welding certification and procedures are overseen by an independent UKAS-approved notifiable body and all mechanical testing is carried out in UKAS approved laboratories with welding procedure and welder approval certification documents produced in-house. This eliminates unnecessary delays in our trainers receiving their certificates following the successful completion of training.
We offer welder testing to current American and European standards on a variety of welding processes on both pipe and plate, from our bespoke facility. We also provide on-site inspection services that include visual, magnetic particle inspection and dye penetrant testing to CSWIP level 2 standards.
Our in-house CSWIP inspectors oversee our welding testing and operations, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest possible standards within the requirements of the specification, with a complete focus on safety.
SWGR’s welding inspectors make certain that all work maintains our commitment to safety, as danger is inherent in the high-risk sectors we work in. They also inspect the working environment of our welders and trainees, and monitor the welding process to ensure our high standards are always met, both in terms of the quality of our welds, and the wellbeing of our teams.
We can provide on-site inspection services for our clients that include visual, magnetic particle inspection, and dye penetrant testing to CSWIP level 2 standard. This standard is internationally recognised, and experienced inspectors are relied on by clients in a wide range of sectors to ensure that their welds are of a high quality and meet all necessary specifications.
Our welding division provides skilled teams of welders capable of completing complex welds on a wide range of engineering and rail projects, and we have completed many large and small engineering works in both the UK and overseas. We are also able to supply supervision where required, providing a complete welder supply service. We have experience completing work on several high-risk sites, ranging from some of the busiest motorway and rail bridges in the UK, to challenging international projects like the Cheung Tsing bridge in Hong Kong.
Our rail welding division meets the demands and needs of railway contractors and Network Rail in the delivery of national rail projects using the aluminothermic and manual metal arc welding processes. We provide a national resource that supplies welding teams and services across the UK.
Our wholly owned equipment is subjected to stringent maintenance and inspection regimes and all of our welding teams carry the requisite safety and skills certification. SWGR is a member of the Rail Welding Association, Rail Industry Contractors Association and the Welding and Joining Society.
We carry out both routine, remedial welding jobs and welds as part of more complex engineering projects, and have a great deal of experience working on operational sites, so we can ensure that our services are only ever a huge help to any project.
