Our dedicated training company Scot-Train is a NSAR (National Skills Academy for Rail) approved and licensed rail training company, providing a one-stop facility for all rail courses. Railway training and management development courses can be specifically designed to meet clients’ requirements, and we also carry out assessments and mentoring for all grades and skills.
We also offer occupational health services both internally across our group business and externally for our wide range of clients and sectors, all delivered from our purpose-built medical centre in Glasgow.
Our redeveloped training centre has a range of modern training and meeting rooms fully supported by all necessary training equipment, which are all available for hire. This state-of-the-art facility, complete with e-learning suite and training track, allows us to offer some of the highest quality training in Scotland for rail, construction and welding.
Each room comes with everything our clients need to hold training, meetings or presentation events, including smartboard technology and multimedia screens, making it ideal for companies visiting or meeting in Glasgow that are looking for a large, purpose-built space to hold meetings and conferences. SWGR Training Services is a fully-licensed provider of Network Rail training and assessment courses, from Personal Track Safety (PTS) training up to Senior Person in Charge of Possession (SPICOP) training. We also carry out assessments and mentoring for every course we offer.
Our railway training courses take place at SWGR’s bespoke training facilities across the UK. As an Association of Railway Training Providers (ARTP) approved and licensed rail training company, we are a one-stop facility for all rail courses, and we can tailor railway training and management development courses to specifically meet every client’s requirements.
Our training facility features a non-operational training track, complete with overhead lines to allow each of our trainees to put their skills into practice outside a classroom environment, without the risks of stepping onto a live site. We are committed to ensuring that each of our trainees finishes their course equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in their rail career.

We have designed a fantastic multi-purpose conference facility in a convenient location with good transport links and plenty of parking. 10 minutes from Glasgow City Centre and right next to Barnhill Railway Station, SWGR’s modern conference centre is available for hire. The building has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and is home to all of the latest technology and equipment. We have plenty of space to cater for large conferences and we also serve many large organisations looking for additional meeting space. Additionally, we provide a catering service for bookings of all sizes.
Our conference facility is on the SWGR campus, which includes a life size railway line and ancillary services, an aluminothermic welding training and testing facility, SWGR Specialist Industrial Supplies and our HQ and manpower facility.
