SWGR Manpower provides Link-Up approved civils, building and engineering support services for rail companies operating throughout the UK. Our focus on safety, quality and timely delivery allows us to succeed in work to support complex rail projects across the UK ranging from small track upgrades to complete overhauls of major, urban commuter services.
Our rail industry credentials and our in-house certified training business Scot-Train enable us to train operatives in Personal Track Safety (PTS), and we hold a substantial database of PTS-certified skilled tradespeople and semi-skilled operatives available to work across the rail network. Our unrivalled knowledge of safety and compliance allows our clients to remain confident in our teams’ ability to deliver work without unnecessary risk or interruption.
We also supply electrical isolation services, possession planning and rail worksite safety supervision, enabling our clients to work within a safe and compliant environment.
Isolations and OHLE
SWGR’s Overhead Line (OHL) Construction and Isolation Services division was established in 2006 to meet the demands of the rail industry in the UK. We have been successful in supplying isolation and construction teams to various projects throughout the UK, and we currently act as a Tier 1 supplier for Network Rail in seven of the UK infrastructure’s nine regions.
SWGR’s OHL staff undertake a range of works from minor alterations and emergency response to full installations of overhead line equipment for a wide range of clients. We are able to deliver foundations, erection of OHL masts, installation of small part steelwork and catenary and contact wire.
Our dedicated servicing engineers ensure that the country’s rail infrastructure is able to run smoothly on a day-to-day basis, carrying out work around the clock to ensure infrastructure is well maintained and functioning well. Service packages include renewal and maintenance of OHL equipment, installation and construction of OHL complete with foundations, OHL bonding and minor repairs, electrification planning and OHL isolation delivery.
We have a large base of skilled mechanical engineers, with particular expertise in the delivery of works in safety-critical sectors such as energy, construction and manufacturing. Our experienced teams provide mechanical engineering services throughout all stages of mechanical and electrical installations, ensuring high standards of quality are always met from the initial design through to the handover stage.
The main sectors our teams service cover gas and energy, construction, including niche sites such as shipyards, and manufacturing, including steelworks and petrochemical plants.
