Byron Da Silva, a Recruitment Consultant at SWGR, is joining the fight against homelessness by giving up his bed.
He will join a host of other business people for a large-scale outdoor sleep out to raise funds for charity. The organiser, CEO Sleepout, was set up to fight homelessness and poverty ‘one city at a time’. Business leaders join forces for one night, giving up their own bed for a sleeping bag. The money raised comes from the generosity of colleagues, friends and family of those taking part. Their sponsorship is vital in raising the funds needed to change the lives for those living below the poverty line.
This year’s event takes place on Monday 15th October at Emirates Old Trafford. Discussing the event, Byron said: “CEO Sleepout supports many great causes and makes a real change.
“We aim to make 2018’s event even bigger and better than the last one, which raised a phenomenal £64,500! This year, we’re looking to beat Newcastle’s amazing total of £117,000, so that we can make a real difference to the lives of Manchester’s most vulnerable people.”
CEO Sleepout is a national charity which operates on a local level. The majority of money raised is distributed to local charities to fight homelessness and poverty within a few miles of each sleepout, as well as those charities that work nationally.
