The emergency services may be required to attend incidents on or near to rail infrastructures. Such locations are considered high risk environments and safety awareness is paramount.
With this in mind the Scot-Train division of SWGR approached the Ambulance Service to enquire whether their staff members would be interested in attending a Rail Awareness Training course.
As a result, the Ambulance Service made the decision to participate in the training and have since made arrangements for a number of teams to attend at our training facility in Glasgow.
The course is aimed at delegates who wouldn’t normally access rail infrastructure environments and is designed to highlight the potential hazards and positions of safety, whilst working near to the Railway.
At Scot-Train we consider the personal safety of individuals working near to Rail Infrastructures as a matter of high importance. We would encourage all those working within the emergency services to participate in the training in order to reduce the risk of an incident occurring.
The Rail Awareness Training offered by Scot-Train is just one of a number of services offered by the division and the wider SWGR group.
