weldingSWGR’s rail welding services division meets the demands of railway contractors and Network Rail in the delivery of national rail projects using the Aluminothermic welding process. We have a national resource, which can provide rail welders and welding teams throughout the UK.


Mobile welding teams come complete with all the necessary equipment to provide the widest spectrum of welds that are required. Our equipment is subjected to the most stringent maintenance and inspection regimes and all of our welding teams carry the requisite safety and skills certification.

We have multi-skilled resources enabling us to deliver the complete range of welding processes approved for use on the UK rail infrastructure, setting us apart from many other welding contractors.

The skills used in our railway business can also be used in light rail/tramway and some crane rail applications, where plain and grooved rail is used.
