SWGR Power Infrastructure Re-commissioning, Marseille, France

SWGR prides itself in responding swiftly to clients’ requirements, by providing skilled personnel to a range of industries at crucial times. This was demonstrated by the way the company supplied over 40 experienced tradesmen and semi-skilled staff to a French power company in Marseille, that had been shut down due to severe adverse weather and flooding. A significant degree of technical expertise was needed to re-commission the station and associated infrastructure (including sub stations and power lines) after the area was devastated in winter 2004. SWGR provided electrical and mechanical engineering teams all of whom worked tirelessly to have the plant up and running with the infrastructure back in place in less than 6 weeks.

The project was co-ordinated by local government and the station personnel, delegating through our supervisors to the various squads.

En-route home, in response to a manmade disaster, our teams were diverted to one of the biggest fires Normandy had seen, at the Phillips facility in Caen.

With a command structure in place similar to Marseille, technical cleaners were deployed in the first instance, followed by skilled mechanical & electrical technicians, who refurbished vital equipment and installed and commissioned new electrical systems.
