| Tulane University Following Hurricane Katrina |
|
Hurricane Katrina closed Tulane University in New Orleans for only the second time in its history, the first being during the American Civil War. The university suffered wide area flooding which affected a large portion of the campus. Although areas of the campus were unaffected by the floodwater, they suffered damage to the utilities serving the university, resulting in a loss of power which resulted in a mass evacuation of staff and students. As part of the continued association with International Claims Managers and damage restoration companies, SWGR provided a team of electrical engineers and electrical technicians to assist in the recovery of power generation and utilities to enable the power to be restored to the affected areas. |
